About us

Tibetan rugs are a fairly new phenomenon in the rug trade. Tibetan style of weaving is unique to the world. Tibetan rugs have been made for centuries, but it has been just lately that Tibetan rugs have taken the rug trade by storm.

Tibetan rugs are a great choice for people wanting an elegant, or even casual look without having the busy pattern of a traditional Persian rug. It is this simplicity that holds much of the appeal of the Tibetan rug. Many people enjoy Tibetan rugs because they are soft, plush and have a unique textural look. The unique texture of Tibetan rugs is due to their construction, which is somewhat different to the traditional knotting of Persian rugs. And the Tibetan wool, which is characteristically flexible, strong, lustrous and very expensive. Tibetan rugs represent a blend of old and new. Nowadays many Tibetan rugs are also designed in the west, but hand-woven to specifications in the traditional Tibetan weave here in Nepal.
